Insane. Still broken. Do me a favor - copy your search.cfm to search2.cfm, and strip out EVERYTHING but the cfform, and the 2 cfselects. Strip this guy to the bare bones.
In general when crap like this goes down, I go nuclear on the code and remove every single possible line I can. (As an FYI, I'll be doing some errands so may not be able to reply again.)
