I checked the monitoring logs of the server and that filesystem never went 
above 52% utilisation, which translates to 3.6GB free space.

I did notice on an identical test system that during the ColdFusion startup the 
neo-cron file went down to 0 bytes for something like 1 second and then 
aparently refilled with the contents of the .bak.
Perhaps I should search in that direction.

Fixing the issue is not really a porblem. I'm more looking for the cause of it 
:)
