Since no one has responded to this yet, I'll go ahead and throw my two cents on it.
Personally, I wouldn't say that IIS is better then Apache, but IIS7 is *WORLDS* better then IIS6 or previous versions - it's worth a second look. The configurations are far more unified and controllable then they were in IIS6, and the guts of IIS7 are far more exposed then they were in IIS6. Folks that know me know that I'm not a MS fanboy in any way, but IIS7 is a respectable web server. I feel the same way about the new MS Firewall in 2008 R2. MS *FINALLY* got the firewall right in that one. It's a powerful and capable firewall.
