I assume the "other frameworks" you're talking about are the MVC frameworks (ColdBox, Model-Glue, FW/1, Mach-II, etc.)? If so they really have nothing to do with each other. Some of them (like ColdBox) have optional features that work with Hibernate, but any of the MVC frameworks will work fine with Hibernate since they deal with different application layers.
