Indeed, I had this debate with someone a few years ago and we beat a server into the ground for a few hours with both scenarios and the results were essentially the same either way. I don't have the exact numbers anymore, but it was along the lines of a difference of less than 10ms when the results of millions of iterations were averaged out (that was on ColdFusion 8 Enterprise on a Dell PowerEdge 2850 server if memory serves). I remember this being a big deal back in 1999 under CF4, but in current versions it doesn't appear to matter from a performance standpoint which cfoutput approach is used. -Justin Scott ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/message.cfm/messageid:351626 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/unsubscribe.cfm
