If the certificate name doesn't match the host name, adding it to your keystore won't help with that. Can you provide the actual URL you're trying to get to? It would be useful to be able to look at the certificate chain. In addition, even if the name matched, you may have to import all the intermediate certificates into the keystore as well (the blah, blah parts you mentioned).
