hi all,
lotus notes and domino is a pure IBM in house product which is out of
sync with today's web technology. I even don't understand why they
use flat file system in notes in the very beginning. The way
it works
is totally like old IBM technology, wrapped within a so called 'web
sever'. The core of the programming involves with javascript,
VBscript, and most of those domino/notes features like formula,
@function, views .... and they are useless skill when you don't work
with them anymore. It is totally strange why IBM not even put DB2
in notes, insteading using a so called semi-structure file system.
I am now working on a ecommerce project and the client is
using notes/domino and they are facing a lot of design and coding
problems because of the nature of domino/notes. If my client uses
coldfusion, their life will be a lot easier and their web site will
be a lot more prettier and professional.
