I have a need to do a lockout of a web app once every now and then (i.e. put up a nice friendly page that says down for 30 minutes for maintenance etc.) - I plan to do this by just setting a checkbox in the admin system and it calls a particular "friendly message" page when the site is accessed - when we're finished we uncheck the box and it's all back to normal. But before we do I need to check if anyone is actually using the app.
