Are you using CF4 or CF4.0.1?
I believe CF4 has an odd bug of displaying a character at the end of pages -
to get around this at the bottom of each return from the server I tend to
put <font size=1 color="#"> with the color as the same as the background
CF4.5.1 doesn't have this problem
