The biggest concern that I have is that developer support could perhaps
begin to wane. Perhaps someone who has worked with Macromedia products could
shed some light on this. I have always felt that Allaire is strongly
committed to their developers (I know that some here would disagree, no need
to flame me!). Will Macromedia maintain that commitment?
One really cool thing Cold Fusion is the developer community. There is a
passion about Cold Fusion that I havent seen with other
languages/technologies. We love Cold Fusion and what we can do with it. As a
result, there is a strong sense of community amongst us. Will that continue
under Macromedia? Or will Cold Fusion become just another product in a long
line.
Will a newbie CF developer feel the same feelings of community and
helpfulness that I felt two and a half years ago when I got started?
I don't know for sure that this will happen, it's just a thought. Im sure
(and I sincerely hope) that CF will continue as a product offering for some
time to come.
