In your situation there is no need to store the credit card. Just
have repeat customers enter the number and expiration date. Small
price to pay for keeping your card safe.
In my situation, where I do batch processing recurring charges, it is
different because you don't want every client to have to go in once a
month and enter their credit card.
In your situation, obviously they have to be interacting with your
website by logging in and downloading the content anyway, so they
don't have to make a special trip to your site to pay.
