Dont' bother with Unicode problems in CF. Thery work fine only if the
server has default code-page the language you're interesting in. This does
not affect the English character based languages (English, Italian, etc),
but gives support for extented character sets (Greek, Japanese etc.). The
problem is you can have pages of more than 2 languages on the same server,
but the one must me the English character based language and the other the
default code-page installed (English and Greek, Italian and Japanese etc.)
but never 2 languages of non-english character-based (Greek and Japanese,
Chinese and Arabic etc).
We're working on Greek language sites and the only solution we have till
now is this. Something more.... Nobody is able to host extented
character-based sites on English hosts because they DID NOT change the
default locale to meet your needs. So, it is easier to find a host of a
country that supports the characters you want (Greece for Greek, French for
France -case of acute- Japan for Japanese etc.)
I really appreciate if someone has another solution, but I don't think
so....
