Real-time is quick and easy these days, so I can't see any reason to do it 
manually. You just need to make sure whoever you get your merchant account 
from has an online interface for real-time transactions. There are CF tags 
in the Developers Exchange for some of the larger ones, but you can modify 
those and/or write your own for just about any interface out there.
