Yes, I've noticed this to be the case on certain channels. If you go to the EFNET
channel #coldfusion, there are people there that will help you. There is also a
#coldfusion channel on UNDERNET, although I rarely go to that one.
Also, remember that there are a lot of off-topic questions in these channels (as there
are on the list here), and I can't blame some people for getting annoyed at others who
are just too lazy to read documentation. We've had plenty of people in the channel
who will ask a question, they will get an answer to bring them to the next level of
the problem, and then ask ANOTHER question when they clearly know which direction to
take or which command to look up based on the previous answer. I am very tolerant of
even these people, but the bottom line is if you are not going to take responsibility
for your own projects then you shouldn't undertake them. Most of these channels, like
this list, are for specific problems to give you a boost, and not to do your project
for you.
I am not directing this to you, per se, but in my experience in the #coldfusion
channel there are too many people who want things done for them.
