Folks,
I just wanted to announce that I've finally released the qForms API. qForms
is released under the GNU License and is designed to ease the pain of
develop client side JavaScript to interact with forms. Here's a brief
rundown on the features available:
- Common methods for setting and retrieving form field values
- Automatically prevents forms from being submitted multiple times
- Dozens of easy to use validation methods
- An extendable API
- Automatic Event Capturing
- Methods for handling complex tasks dealing with form fields-such as
transfering items between select boxes
- The ability to lock/disable form fields (Works with Netscape v3.0!!!)
- The API was written for Netscape v3.0 and higher
- And much, much more...
The best part is, it's all *free*! :) The only catch is that if you create
your own libraries or make modifications, that I'd like you to send them to
me. It's not a requirement, but I'm hoping that developers will be willing
to share their add-on libraries with the rest of the development community.
If you find coding JavaScript a hassle, I think you'll find qForms extremely
helpful. I guarantee it'll ease the creation of client-side validation.
All the information you need is available at:

Sincerely,
Dan G. Switzer, II

PS - I'm sending this message out to both the JS-Jive and CFTalk lists, only
because I commonly see questions relating to JavaScript interaction with
form elements.
