Check the mail spool file and see if there are any emails in there, I have
found a bug in cfmail that for one reason or another makes these .cfmail
spool files make out of garble that when in the cfmail directory cause CF to
load to 100%. If that's not it maybe someone on the list has another
scenario.

Subject: ColdFusion Server Unresponsive, CPU Load at 100%
Unusual situation. We have been running ColdFusion Professional Server our
on web servers (2000/IIS) and up until the last week or so we were fine.
Our intranet site is query intensive with as many as 40 queries occurring on
every hit. Typically, by the afternoon the ColdFusion Application Service
is non-responsive and our CPU load is 100%. When you stop the ColdFusion
Application Service, CPU load drops to 5-6%. However, within minutes it
returns to 100%. Does anyone have any ideas on what is causing this?
In addition, is there any performance upgrade when switching to ColdFusion
Enterprise Server? (Or is it simply additional features?)
Thanks,
