Again, I have used commerce blocks and I feel like it is to restrictive. Who wants a
generator that does not give you the developer control over the code that is generated?
Codecharge, CommerceBlocks, and Spin something(I cannot remeber the name of it), are
all Win32 apps that you have to run in Windows. The Dev Assistant is web based and can
be used from anywhere. I know that it is not ready for general use, but it has many
advantages to all the other tools.
The only limiting factor that it has is that it currently only supports one database
and one language, MS SQL Server 7 and CF. The reason is that these are the main things
that I work in. I will be adding ASP.Net support soon.
Plus, as a developer, why should a tool that you use only allow you to generate Stored
Procedures and the query's to call the SPs, look at and change the data in your
database, create/modify tables, create/modify views and do other things.
I built this app to speed up my development time and be flexible at the same time.
Sorry for the rant, but I just had to explain my experiences.
Thanks,
