I've been using VSS for a number of years mainly with VB APPs and SQL code
and although it is a pain in the backside for developers as you have to go
through standard procedures to make changes to a file it is invaluable when
you find a mistake in your code. In my opinion it is one of the best
products MS has brought out (ok maybe not quite but it feels like it as it's
saved my bacon a number of times!) I also think that VSS is perfect for web
sites/systems w.r.t version control. Of course it is also useful as a
library for custom tags etc but the version control aspect of VSS is perfect
for the use with the web. I've not used CF with VSS but I'm sure it is as
every bit as powerfull as VB and SQL is with VSS

I've also used VSS for a number of years without any problem.
I just wanted to throw out an alternative to those who cannot afford VSS or
just need something for themselves -- Component Software has a revision
control system that works great and is free for personal use.
