Re: image sizes
We use CFX_GIFGD by Jukka Manner which is free, works fine and does lots of
good stuff (paste image into image, insert text into image, dynamic charting
etc. etc.)

Hi,
My company happens to have a tag that will do just that, in addition to a
number of other image processing tasks. The download facility will be
available on Monday, but have a look at the site for a complete description
and command reference, it may be what you are looking for.

does anybody know of any custom tags that will tell you the dimensions of an
image.??
i found one on the allaire developer exchange but it doesnt seem to work
properly for the jpegs i have tried it on.
i think the name of the one i tried was "imageinfo" by fuseware. but when i
try it on my images then it just returns blank strings for "width" and
"height", and it is reporting the "type" as "8" which is odd.
thanks in advance.

This is normal as in my experience. I would guess that the administrator
doesn't have the support for MySQL just yet. It's a pain at times, but if
you're running MySQL an unnecessary evil I suppose. :)

Dude, that makes 2 of us, Thursday started off great until 3:30 in the
afternoon when I went to open CF Studio to alter a file, by accident, and
the biggest fluke in the world, all I remember doing was hitting the delete
key on the directory (I'm working across a network, so when a file gets
deleted it's setup to be permanently deleted) Now, deleting files is no big
deal but it said that it couldn't delete the directory so I said "ok".
Then I noticed something odd, why were my files missing? It turns out that I
had accidently deleted any file name that began with the following letters
A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H...all my cfm and images etc...
oops
Luckily my dad reminded me that I had a backup copy of the site on another
server, so I just quickly replaced that (tho I was freaking out and
frantically re-writing code faster than I ever had before)
It happens to the best of us.

The Register has a story about The Macromedia/Allaire merger up. Nothing
new, but leave it to The Reg to have some great quotes. It starts of with...
"Macromedia and Allaire have completed their merger and announced their
love-in with an extremely brief press release and a cheesy interview with
the heads of each company. "

Hi,
I've been unable to find the way to stop "truncation" in CF. I do it in
other programming languages but need to find how to do it in CF.
1. To pass information in the URL that has spaces in it.
Such as "Somepage.cfm?category=big beach balls". I need a way to fill the
spaces with "%20's".
2. When appending to, or updating a record in a database with information
that has spaces, quotes, questionmarks, etc. The <textarea></textarea> input
doesn't seem to have a problem, only the <text type="text">. I put big red &
blue beach balls into the database and all that getback is big red. Or I put
Floor Jars (over 20" high) and all I get back is Floor Jars (over 2O .
Thanks in advance,
Michael Gribbin
