Do you mean that you want to add to what's already there?.....eg. A field
called name contains "Becky" and you want to update it to be
"BeckyJones"?...if so what you need is:

UPDATE <table> SET <fieldname> = <fieldname> + '<NewValue>'

This will only work with a chrachter field
