I had a thought the other day, that I wanted to run by people - specifically
A/MM people. Have you thought at all about putting out an edition of Cold
Fusion that is like a lite version (very cheap/free) - that just doesn't
have the database connectivity side to it? It would get people used to
programming in CF contexts and methodologies, but would limit the software
enough that as people's needs got more advanced, they would need the
database stuff. Move people from client side scripting to server-side -
changing the way developers who are just starting or are looking for cheap
ways of doing things to migrate to the Cold Fusion world. Not only
promoting CF server sales, but Studio sales as well.

I think I recall some sort of lite version awhile back that had some
differences (can't remember what), but I think this actually would get new
users in, programming in at least pseudo-Cold Fusion, and wanting more. I
know it was originally a database application development package, but now
its way beyond that.

Just a thought...from a very happy CF developer. Thanks for the decision on
the liscencing!
