if they're stacking up in CF's mail spool directory or undeliverable, it's a
good chance it's not your mail server.

do you have a zero-length file in the CF mail spool directory?

Subject: CF mail -looking for the bottleneck

Problem:
Lots of messages are backing up in the cfmail spool when I send out my news
letter (via cfmail).

What I observe is that the first 500 or so messages barley show up in the
spool folder and they are send almost instantaneously. After about 1200
messages everything thing slows down to about one mail per sec.

Is this my SMTP server that is too slow or is the bottleneck in cfmail?
