the format of the file seems complicated but doable.. the problem seems to
be how to actually transfer the data from their system to my application.
They will be connected by a novell network, currently I use an ODBC
datasource to run sql querries on their actual data files. They are
"upgrading" to a new system that uses an encrypted database of some sort,
and their programmer is demanding that I use HL7 to communicate with it.
So - the question becomes: Can I send a sql statement to their system
and expect an HL7 file returned to me?
It worked so fast and smoothly before - maybe I should have them fire
their programmers:)
