I've used ActiveEdit 1.0 and it worked well for the site it was used on.  I
do remember having a few issues with 1.0, but I am sure those were addressed
in their latest version.

We currently use HTMLAREA and have had no problems with it.  HTMLAREA can be
bought with a distribution license.  I am not sure if ActiveEdit can.

ActiveEdit looks to have a new companion spell checker that can purchased.
As far as I can tell, you could probably implement that with either solution
but have not tried it yet.

activeedit is cool but not perfect.  we use it.  make sure to get the new
version 2.5, i haven't tried it yet but it seems they fixed a lot of
stuff.  IE only.
