Microsoft Access has the ability to import or link to Outlook as a datasource. So you could have a DB that references the data in an Outlook mailbox without moving the actual messages to the DB. Try file -> Get External Data -> Link Tables. Under datasources, choose outlook. Pick the profile and folder that you want to link to.
