Hi all. Sorry for the OT post. I've made a backup of my shopping cart database in SQL Server. When I set up a new cart, I just do a restore to a different physical filename. However, the logical filename is always the same as the original. I can't find alot about this in a couple hours of reading SQL documentation, but it does say that when you do a restore, you can either restore using the logical filename or the physical filename. My questions: If I need to restore one of the cart databases for some reason, will everything be OK if I just choose the correct backup files and restore to the physical filename? What would happen if I did a restore to the logical filename? I presume it would change all the databases with that logical filename? I also read in my travels that all databases must have a unique logical filename, but obviously SQL lets me add databases all day long with the same logical filename. Is there a way to change the logical filename of a database either during or after a restore? It won't let me change it in the options dialog. Well, it lets me change it, but then returns an error that the logical filename is not part of the database. Thanks for any help you SQL gurus can give me on this one. -- Bud Schneehagen - Tropical Web Creations _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/ ColdFusion Solutions / eCommerce Development [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.twcreations.com/ 954.721.3452 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Structure your ColdFusion code with Fusebox.
