Well, I can actually do it in 2001 as I'll be at the conference hotel
running a community suite. Basically, we're getting a large room,
stocking
it with a server, a projector with a martial arts fight game, a
library of
CF and tech books for review and whatever else we can get our hands
on. This
"community suite" will be open for people to come in, talk, meet,
greet and
network. The goal is to both represent the community and let people
get to
know each other in a community setting. I think that if you shook
hands and
talked with someone from an ISP, you'd be more likely to go with
them. Same
with a product or developer.
We're trying to get some sponsors for it and when we have more solid
info
(like a room number) we'll post it in FA and to the lists.
It'll be a blast.
Oh, as for me talking officially in 2002, the chances are basically
nil.
Some in MM don't trust me as a speaker for reasons that have been
gone over
in the community list before and are basically OT here. This is why
I'm not
speaking at the conference this year (or even attending).
