If you are talking about a specific monitor, you'll want to consider pixel 
depth (aka, resolution), not size.  It is a safe assumption that your 42" 
monitor will not display the same 72-120 dpi that your desktop monitor will 
(if it does, I want one).

Unless this is a HD monitor, you will probably be lucky to get 480 x 
720.  With HD, you might get 1080 x 720 or better.
