I just did the default Win2k/IIS 5 install, made no changes to the "Virtual
SMTP Server" settings. I moved my personal live toy/project site, which need
to send mail and gets over 100+ hits a day, over to this server. It won't
send mail. Now I could tell CF to send mail through another box but, I want
to send it via IIS 5 SMTP.

This is what I want to do, but it won't do it.
CF5 Admin Mail Settings page says "ColdFusion connected to your server.
Verification completed without error."

But, when you try to send mail the log file says: "Failed to send the
spooled mail file, C:\CFusion\Mail\spool\21.cfmail. SMTP server replied
"5.7.1 Unable to relay for [EMAIL PROTECTED]"".

So, I started playing with the settings in SMTP and now all I get is:
"Failed to send the spooled mail file, C:\CFusion\Mail\spool\30.cfmail. SMTP
server replied "No connection to mail server.""

What are the settings need to open it up and let it send from [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Justin

Clarify your question. You can't send through your local SMTP server and
want to set up a fake one just to demonstrate? IIS comes with SMTP
services. You can activate these on the same machine your CF is on, and
just send through that if you want.
