try looking at the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion OR
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion OR
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows 2000\CurrentVersion
and look for something called Productkey i think
