If you're using SQL Server 2000/MDAC 2.6, there's a bug in the initial
release that doesn't allow native SQL Server logins to work, only
trusted
connections:

You won't be able to use a trusted connection in your datasource unless
the CF Server is running as a user with the appropriate rights - by
default, CF runs as SYSTEM, which has no trusted connection rights.
