Anyone know if CF can talk to this DB (JDatastore)?

Our client side tools are built in JAVA and our server side are all
delivered via CF, but we are at the stage now where Oracle is not quite an
option due to price but need the higher functionality of a DB (such as the
handling of simultaneous accesses to the DB both from JAVA and CF)
We are hoping to port to Solaris as soon as we can tie in a DB that is
supported on Solaris as well as CF compatible so we are trying to keep from
going the Sequal Server direction.
Anyone have any alternative DB's that are more affordable than Oracle, both
JAVA and CF can talk to it simultaneously and the DB will control it.
Any and all input is appreciated.
