Are some of the .doc files created with older versions of Word? I do believe
Verity97 was unable to index Word2000 (and Acrobat4) files whereas it had no
problem with previous versions.
The version included with CF5 is supposed to correct that issue.

Subject: Incomplete Verity Indexing in CF4
I've just noticed an unusual problem with a set of documents I have indexed
using the Verity search engine shipped with CF 4.0.1. Although the .doc
extension is specified, some .doc files are apparently being skipped during
indexing, and are not being found in keyword searches. Other .doc files in
the same physical directory are being picked up in searches.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is the problem fixed in CF5?
Thanks,
