Alternatives?  That use CFML?  No.

Other alternatives?  There's a lot of other languages to choose from.

I don't really think that CF is expensive.  It's not free, like some
other languages.  However, if I can develop applications in 1/2 the
time, then CF pays for itself.  Also, CF is the same price or cheaper
than other alternatives that you do have to pay for.
