I opened the pdf in Photoshop and then saved it as a jpg and it works SUPER.

Why would you need javascript? If I understand the question correctly,
couldn't
you have a frame in the HTML email where the source is an embedded PDF in a
multipart email?

Somebody posted instructions for embedding files in an HTML email just
recently,
so it shouldn't be a problem to find.
