With iMS you don't need an external mail server as it is a mail server (on thing that 
definitely sets us apart from the competition.
We also have a comparison chart that you can look at here: 
http://www.coolfusion.com/imssecomparison.cfm).  Anyway, we have a basic
server package which includes SMTP, POP, POST (mail sending) and a scheduler for $500 
(iMS-SE).  This gives you everyting you need
to create custom email apps.
