that's what I figured I'd have to do.... Yes there is a link-but it you have
to use a couple talbes....(reference, etc). I just meant no direct link in
student table.

You're going to need to re-think how this works. There must be some
connection between teacher and student in the database, yes? So, you'll need
to pull the teachers and students, grouped by teacher. Or, pull the teachers
and then do a subsequent query pulling all students with said teacher.
