Steven, I would suggest looking in the ColdFusion logs to see if there are any indications there. I have personally not seen this error before but if you have just taken over the ColdFusion app there can be memory-threading/corruption issues in the ColdFusion code does not have locking of shared scope variables. This is a long-shot I hope it might help you.
