Hi all,
I'm sure everybody knows the CF tree applet that comes with
CF. That has some limitations - namely it must load the entire tree
structure before displaying, it can't load incrementally, and I've found it
hard to get running under Netscape in the past. Long ago I abandoned that
applet in favour of the nessal treeview applet (search the web if you
must), but again, I've had problems with that namely in netscape, wierd
java array bound errors, and it's datafile format isn't the nicest
either. So, quite some time ago I abandonded that in favour of a quickly
hacked togethor (by myself) HTML-CF only tree system working off the same
datafile format as the nessal tree (because I already had the data output
routines written), but I'm not really happy with the solution, for a number
of reasons I won't go into here (I could make it better, but not great).

So. What I have been thinking is doing the same sort of thing (a treeview
like nessal - with a couple improvements here and there) in flash (I'm
thinking, using WDDX packets to get the data from the server). I don't
know anything about flash so it would probably be non-trivial for me, so
before I delve headlong into the idea can anybody tell me if I would be
reinventing the wheel (and if I am, where is that wheel :-)) ?

Thanks Muchly.
