As a developer, I routinely do Cold Fusion/HTML, Visual Basic, SQL Server,
MS Access, Java/javascript, and some C/C++. needless to say I have the
tools to handle these things.

This data hammer sounds interesting, and I will check it out.

Neil, if you don't have VB or whatever tools needed to compile something,
I'm sure you know people who do... making contacts is part of the
business... give them the files, ask them to compile it for you. I don't
think this will hurt the licensing because you own SQL Server (I'm
assuming), and would be using an executable file.

Hope that helps.

You sound offended by the suggestion.

A lot of developers have many 'talents' or 'skills' and with those skills
comes there own array of software and equipment. I don't think it is
presumptuous to assume the developer may have additional skills and
software. With VB being a fairly common language, and the one most
commonly used (In my experience) to build GUIs on top of SQL Server... it
doesn't seem like a big stretch to say 'use VB.'

If you work for a company, see if they have it, otherwise see if they'll
buy it. Otherwise look for alternate methods (I can't help you there,
because I don't know of any ) .
