So Kay, will you marry me? I need a wife that can fix my bad CF Coding. That trailing back slash did the trick. I was making the solution harder than it needed to be. The example in the reference book I use: "Mastering ColdFusion 4.5", didn't use a trailing back slash, so I didn't either.
Thanks again, this group is well worth the hundreds of emails a day I get from it. I also think the server-master will be relieved that he doesn't have to do anything about it on his end.
