You are correct in assuming that you will need Advanced Security to pull 
this off.  I wrote a chapter on doing this for the Ben Forta's "Advanced 
Macromedia Coldfusion 5 Application Development"  book.  When I get back to
 
my home office (away for the holidays at the moment), I can give you more 
details, or, if you have the book around (and if you don't you probably 
should :) ) you can find the details in chapter 10 "Security and Shared and
 
Hosted Environments"
