Go to www.coolfusion.com and look at iMS. It's a mailserver that uses CF tamplates to process the mail logic. I'm using it in combination with post.office for the list here and have been moving more and more to pure iMS. Can it handle the mail load you mentioned, the answer is definitely yes. If you want to try out a pure iMS list server, you can sign up for the test list at www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists. I'm still playing with the variable delivery digests and such, but it's really smooth. And it costs less than 8k.
