Have you checked out using MSDE with an Access frontend yet? Some of the
promotional gibberish from MS suggests your scenario may be a perfect fit.

Subject: Synchronizing data

Well, here is a bit of an interesting pickle and wonder if anyone has any
pointers or even an app to buy to cover something like this:

Client has big SQL database and CF solution we are finishing... one employee
works on laptop working this system...wants to download database to his
local Access database to his local mini-system on his laptop for offline
work (Win98/Apache/CF Express/Access), plug back into the network, and
synchronize the main SQL database from his offline Access database.

Any good way to synchronize this data? Obviously there will be new data in
the live system as others are working on it, but his new data and any
changed data must be uploaded...this seems to be frought with potential
issues.

Thoughts?
