Hi Russel, I created a 10,000 character document with no spaces... 123456789012345678901234567890 etc... and cut and pasted it into the textarea box...
After saving it I cut and pasted the result when querying it into msword and then asked it to count the characters for me... 8194 was the answer. I then went to the database with another tool, (pgAdmin on NT against postgreSQL on a linux box), to find only 8194 characters. HOWEVER I was able to add more characters to the database vchar field via pgAdmin. So it is not that the database can't, but rather I think that the CF server/postgreSQL ODBC driver combination can't. As an aside; it is interesting that 2^13 = 8192...
