Hmm... That looks bad for me on XP/IE6. The "next" page starts at the
bottom of the screen with a sea of white space above it.

You have another option.  Its cheating, but should dramatically simplify
your coding (eliminates the need to pass vars from page to page) if all
users are doing is simple entry:

At the bottom of your screen the user is presented with the usual
next/previous links.  However, these links are just inline anchor links
to the same page.  The page itself has tiny transparent gifs stretched
to, say, 1200 pixels in height in between your ''pages''.  Moving from
one page to another is just hopping around inside a single template.
You can move back and forth freely until you submit.  The only sign that
anything unusual is going on comes when you notice the scrollbar
indicates a long form.

I first saw this from a designer who is doing a front end to a site
where I'm doing the back end... if he ever finishes.

Pick a state and you will be taken to this goofy form construct.  The
designer put in spacers that are too small, so if you're on a hi-res
scrn keep in mind you have to use taller transparent gifs.
