Maybe I'm just confusing myself but the way I read this 

 <cfset currentMonth = this month displayed as MM>
   <cfif fileExists(expandPath("TS2002#currentMonth#*.pdf">

is -- if, in the current month, a file exists -- then do X.

Possible solutions:

A loop that checks for each day of the month is the correct way? 


I would like it to look like this

S   M  T  W  T  F  S 
1   2  3  4  5  6  7
8   9 10 11 12 13 14
15 16 17 18 19 20 21
22 23 24 25 26 27 28
29 30 31

All dates with corresponding files will be linked. All days w/o
corresponding files would remain unlinked.
