It all depends on who your customer base is. Do you want the homepage to be printable .. does it need to be printable.
Is the person who is paying the bill's wanting it to be printable. We have an issue with our pages not being printable as well, we decided that it was more important to have all of our content laid out in 800x600 than to worry about it being printed. We have also made sure that NOTHING on the right hand side is important enough that if it was printed it wouldn't matter if it showed up or not. Gives you something to think about!
