Wrong.
Here's the code we're using in production to generate thumbnails:
<CFX_IMAGE FILE="#variables.mainpicfilename#"
ACTION="RESIZE"
X="88"
OUTPUT="#variables.thumbfilename#">
This creates a thumbnail 88 pixels wide.
