No the SQL server will take care if it, a trigger resides in the DB. I don't recall if SQL 7 has triggers, been a long a time since I used that version anyone else care to comment.

The duplication occurs when a certain condition is met in the application logic. I guess I could put that logic into a trigger as well. Ive never used triggers, wouldn't I still have to write some SQL code to do the INSERET? -----Original Message----- From: Andrew Scott [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Is this SQl 2000, then why not use a trigger? ______________________________________________________________________ Dedicated Windows 2000 Server PIII 800 / 256 MB RAM / 40 GB HD / 20 GB MO/XFER Instant Activation $99/Month Free Setup http://www.pennyhost.com/redirect.cfm?adcode=coldfusiona FAQ: http://www.thenetprofits.co.uk/coldfusion/faq Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/index.cfm?sidebar=lists
